August 2015

"Adam and Angie met at Keene State College, but they don’t think of themselves as the typical campus couple.  Angie, the modern dancer and Adam, merely an English major, would never date each other….would they?

They did!

After they both graduated they applied to teach abroad in Abu Dabi, but when it was suggested they get married to comply with cultural standards they both thought, “nah”.

So they ended up on an amazing adventure together for over two years teaching in South Korea, backpacking through Vietnam, Japan and Malaysia and finally working on farmstays across New Zealand.  When they returned to the states in 2014, a job working with international exchange students brought them to a small apartment in Providence right across from a new jewelry shop called talulah.cooper.

On an assignment for RI Local Magazine, Adam got to know Haylee, the owner of the shop, and she helped him find the perfect ring for Angie based on a few obscure links on Etsy and a vague description of something kind of “simple and unpolished”.

Finally, on a quiet afternoon after hiking in the Badlands National Park in South Dakota, Adam and Angie were relaxing at their campsite. When Angie wasn’t paying attention, Adam rummaged through his bags to find the ring he hid in a pair of socks.

He did it!

The rest is history...or rather... the future!"

cheers to many more adventures to come!
